Julie Yuqing Ye  is a classical pianist based in Oslo. 

As an active soloist and chamber musician she has given concerts throughout Europe. Venues include the Norwegian Opera and Ballet and Oslo Concert Hall as well as Wigmore Hall and Milton Court Concert Hall in London.


After entering Unge Talenter, a program for young and talented musicians at Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo, she started studying with Einar Steen-Nøkleberg. In 2018 she completed her Artist Diploma (Diplomstudiet) at the Norwegian Academy of Music, together with a masters degree in Music Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

During these years she studied with Marianna Shirinyan, Håvard Gimse, Charles Owen and Katya Apekisheva, as well as Alessandra Georgia Brustia during an exchange term to the Claudio Monteverdi Conservatorio in Bolzano. 

Julie has been a soloist with Oslo Symphony Orchestra, Asker Symphony Orchestra and Bærum Symphony Orchestra. She played her Diploma Concert at the Lindemansalen in Oslo with Karl Heinz-Steffens, Camilla Simensen and the Norwegian Music Academy Orchestra, performing Shostakovich Piano Concerto No. 1. 

Some of the festivals Julie has participated in are Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Oxford Philomusica Piano Festival, Beijing International Music Festival and Academy, International Summer Academy Mozarteum, Hardanger Musikkfest, Trondheim Kammermusikkfestival.

Julie's most recent television appearance was at the Norwegian Broadcasting Company's Grieg Anniversary Concert (NRK's Grieg: Minutt for minutt) in 2018. She was also in the NRK show Meisterklasse in 2012 together with Leif Ove Andsnes.

Julie ferdigstilte Diplomstudiet på Norges Musikkhøgskole i 2018, etter å ha tatt master- og bachelorutdanning ved Guildhall School of Music and Drama i London. I løpet av den tiden gikk hun hos Marianna Shirinyan, Håvard Gimse, Charles Owen og Katya Apekisheva. Hun studerte også hos Alessandra Georgia Brustia under utveksling på Claudio Monteverdi Conservatorio i Bolzano, og gikk i mange år hos Einar Steen-Nøkleberg på Barratt Due musikkinstitutt. Hun bor for tiden i Oslo der hun frilanser og underviser piano.

Hun har spilt med blant annet Oslo symfoniorkester, Bærum symfoniorkester og Asker symfoniorkester. Hennes diplomkonsert med Shostakovich pianokonsert nr. 1 var i Lindemansalen med Karl Heinz-Steffens, Camilla Simensen og Norges musikkhøgskoleorkester.

Under NRK's Grieg: Minutt for minutt i 2018 deltok hun med Griegs op. 17 nr. 1-5, og var også å se i NRKs Meisterklasse i 2012 med Leif Ove Andsnes.
